Cross Street Arts has some exciting plans for 2014. We have just welcomed our Artist in Residence Maria Walker . You can keep up to date with Maria's work by viewing her Facebook page here.

Our gallery space will see a slight change this year with a section being utilised as a project space for our associate members. We are excited to be provide this space for associates and keen to see how their works progress. In addition to this we have an exciting exhibition programme for 2014... keep checking our Facebook page for updates.

Artist in Residence Opportunity at Cross Street Arts.

Cross Street Arts is offering a visual artist a residency opportunity at its base in Standish.  The opportunity includes a rent-free studio for 6 months from January 2014 in which to research, develop and make new work.  There is the possibility of presenting an exhibition of your work in our Cross Street Gallery at the end of the residency.

The studio (200 sq ft) has 24 hour access, 7 days a week, has artificial lighting and is suitable for an artist who requires no specialist equipment or machinery (such as extractors, metal and woodworking facilities, etc).  You will be able to utilize our on-site resources, and you will benefit from engagement with ten other studio artists through critical feedback and mutual support.

The residency would suit a recent graduate or emerging artist based in the north-west, who is working towards developing a particular body of work or trying out new ideas.  You will be responsible for your own materials and living expenses.  The studio is a work-only space and accommodation is not included.  (The value of the rent-free studio for 6 months is £800.
